NextDrive documents the vehicle's condition at pickup with timestamped photos/video. When the vehicle is returned, we compare the return condition against the pickup video/photos when applicable.
We compare the vehicle's return condition with the pickup video/photos so you are not charged for conditions that were already documented when you received the vehicle.
Return the vehicle according to your Lease agreement and documented pickup condition: washed and clean inside, full tank, smoke-free (no smoke, vape, or marijuana contamination), no new customer-caused damage, key and required vehicle items returned, and no unpaid customer-responsibility charges.
Only properly chargeable deductions or outstanding amounts under the Lease agreement and applicable law may reduce the deposit, such as unpaid tolls, parking violations, camera notices, customer-responsibility citations, missing fuel, excessive cleaning, smoking/vaping contamination, a missing key or required items, or new customer-caused damage. One charge does not automatically mean you lose the whole deposit.
Example only: $200 refundable Lease deposit − $50 valid charge after return = $150 eligible remaining deposit balance. Your result depends on your vehicle's deposit, your Lease agreement, and any properly chargeable amounts.
Refunding the eligible deposit balance does not automatically eliminate responsibility for a valid ticket, toll, citation, camera notice, or other violation incurred while you had the vehicle. If a valid charge arrives after the review is complete, NextDrive may transfer, bill, or otherwise pursue responsibility as permitted by the Lease agreement and applicable law.
