Important Vehicle Disclosure
Known Mechanical Issue DISCOUNTED: INTERMITTENT HIGHWAY JERKING, SLOW ACCELERATION, STARTING TROUBLE, CHECK-ENGINE LIGHT & UPPER DOOR-AREA DMG NOT SMOOTH RIDE!!!
Currently drivable BUT NOT SMOOTH, but WILL jerk around 60 to 65 mph. NOT A SMOOTH RIDE: Jerking, slow acceleration, and starting trouble can come and go. The check-engine light is on. Review details before submitting.
• The Kia Rio sometimes jerks while shifting around 60 to 65 mph. At other times, the RPM gauge may stop responding, shifting may be delayed, and acceleration from a stop can be slow. When this happens, reaching 40 mph has taken about 10 seconds.
• Starting trouble also comes and goes. It may not start on the first try, but has started after two or three attempts. There is no predictable schedule for when these symptoms will occur.
• The check-engine light is on. The original catalytic converter was stolen and replaced with an aftermarket unit, and the O2 sensor was not reconnected. The causes of the driving and starting symptoms have not been confirmed.
• Photo 16 of 19 shows paint damage and worn trim around the upper door frame and pillar. The interior has visible stains and wear. Please review all photos.
• ABS and traction-control lights: Both amber warning lights are on. See photo 20 of 21. A left-front tire blowout and continued driving reportedly damaged or disconnected the wheel-speed sensor or wiring. The exact fault has not been confirmed. ABS and traction control may not function normally, even if regular braking feels unchanged.
• Check-engine light: The previously disclosed check-engine light is also shown in photo 21 of 21.
• Rainwater entering the interior: The upper door-area and weatherstrip damage shown in photo 16 of 21 allows rainwater into the car. The interior gets wet when it rains.
